Hitting The Web: Vermicide #1 from QEW Publishing

Hello, my faithful art lovers! Well, it looks like I'm back even sooner than I expected. Today I'm gonna hit you with something a little different. It's a published work from one of our illustrious talents, but not in a way you would expect.

Starting today, the one-shot comic Vermicide: Death By Worm is now available to purchase. But you won't find it at your local comic shop. No, it's only available as an e-book from QEW Publishing. This is obviously the wave of the future for comics and so those of you who are technologically advanced enough and have the proper tech gear, you can get in on this. Our own Ben Hansen has provided the art on this e-book one-shot, including the cover which is shown right here in its colored glory. You can get downloadable copy of the comic (for a small fee, of course), directly at the QEW Publishing website.

Then, of course, you can go and purchase the actual cover art, or any of Ben's other great works (or any of the works from any of our talent roster), at our comic art gallery. The cover is still available right now, but there's a lot of great art there just looking for a good new home. So, do your part and pick up a piece or two. And, after all, we still have our little "scanner issue" here at Sequential Treasures HQ. So, every sale is very important right now! As always, your support is greatly appreciated.

See Mick Gray at WonderCon this weekend!

Hello again, folks! Your faithful blogmaster is back to give you the lowdown on an appearance by one of our awesomely talented artists, as well as a few other tidbits of interest. Let's get to it, shall we?

As most of you know, this weekend is the WonderCon in San Francisco. It's one of the more popular shows of the year, with plenty of great stuff to see. Well, our own Mick Gray will be at the show this year. He'll have the usual array of original art and prints with him, as well as some previews to some upcoming things he's working on. So, if you are at the show, make sure to stop by table AA-025 in artist alley, which is where Mick will be. Tell him Sequential Treasures sent ya. And check out the WonderCon website for more info.

And speaking of Mick, if any of you were filling out your comic orders for May, you might have noticed that Mick (along with Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason) were not the team listed for Batman and Robin #23. Not to worry, though, as I spoke with Mick and he told me that the team doing that issue is going to be doing a three or four issue arc, to give him and the regular team some time to catch up (and even get ahead) on their deadlines. They will be back on the series come issue #26 or 27. So, don't drop the series, if you've been liking their work. There's is plenty more to come soon.

And lastly, I wanted to, once again, update you on our scanner situation. As you know from the last time I updated here, my scanner has died and I don't have the funds to replace it. So, there will be no more art updates, until I get a new one, but that can only happen if you guys buy some of the product we have on our art gallery right now. You don't have to go crazy, but every little purchase helps. So, dig into those wallets and help me to remedy this situation as quickly as possible. I don't want to go for a long period without art updates, just as I'm sure you don't want me too, either. You support is, as always, very much appreciated.

A most important art for sale update!

Hello again, my comic art groupies! We are back with an all new art update, with art from several ofour artists. So, let's not waste any time and get to it, shall we?

First off, Ben Hansen gives us a few new pin up pieces, featuring the likes of the Fantastic Four, X-Force's Domino, and the original art to the War Machine print we had at ECCC this year (and this piece also comes with one of those print, as well).

Nest, Randy Kintz adds a couple of new pieces to the lot. We have the cover art to the Hollywood Highways OGN, from Portal Comics (which is shown here above). And we have a soon-to-be-published pin up that spotlights the ladies of DarkBrain.com.

Last, but by no means least, we have another update of stuff from Richard Moore. Now we have 10 pages from his upcoming Ladies of the Night one-shot, due out next month from Antarctic Press, which can be your's. I don't mind saying that these are probably among some of Richard's finest work (which when you look at all the great art we've showcased by him over the last few years, that's really saying something. You just have to see these to believe them.

Lots of very cool stuff to see, no doubt. So, head on over to our art gallery and check them all out. Then place your oders with the quickness, as I don't expect the best pieces to be around for long.

But, as you might be asking, how does all of that make this the "most important" art update we've ever had? Well, will all this goodness, it only stands to reason that some bad goes with it. While I was working on this update, my flatbed scanner died. After 5 years and a few thousand scans, it is no more. Unfortunately, I do not currently have the funds to purchase a new one. So, without some serious sales in the very near future, there could be no new art updates for some time. This is certainly not something I want, nor do I think any of you out there want this, either. Please help me to avoid this possibility and help me get enough sales to replace such a vital componant for this operation to continue running. I normally don't ask for things like this, but this is an extreme situation that must be addressed soon. As always, your business and support is greatly appreciated by all of us at Sequential Treasures.

Emerald City ComiCon: Post Show Report

Hey there, my artistic fiends! Well, ECCC 2011 is now in the books and history. It was a great time by all account and that includes us at Sequential Treasures. After having a couple of days to decompress from things, it's now time to give you our usual post con report.

This year was a bit different for me, as I didn't get out and about at the show like I normally do. I manned the booth most of the show (like shown in the picture here). This enabled me to see a lot of attendees, a few of whom I already knew. Many of whom, though, I did not. I did notice just how many great costumes there were this year. So, I complied a small catalog of the better one and posted those pics on our Facebook Group. If you are on Facebook, you should check these out (as well as my acerbic attempts at humor on them). Some of these folks really went all out on this.

It was good having Randy Kintz in our booth, as it made the booth feel more of a place to be (which is something I was concerned with, since our booth was on the opposite side of where artist alley was). He sold quite a few prints and did some sketches. A Wonder Woman, Lady Death, Batgirl, and Black Cat were all among the ones he did. But I think my favorite one, was a fun head shot he did of the Joker as a Green Lantern. It was certainly one of the more inventive ones I saw him do.

Speaking of prints, our Transformers jam one did very well and was quite popular with folks. Even ones who stopped by the booth and didn't pick up one, still had nothing but positive comments about it (although, maybe my blasting the Transformers: The Movie soundtrack helped in that, too). I'm certain we'll do another one for next year. I just need to pick the subject matter. Only sold a few pieces of original art, though, but hopefully, with this show growing every year, some of those big spenders will start coming to this one.

While I was at the booth most of the show, I did get out a little each day to get some comics signed and get a few sketches. I noticed that most artists prices are really getting high nowadays. So, I guess if anyone wondered if the recession is over, now you know. Being limited in my funds I didn't get nearly as many sketches as I have in past shows, but I managed to get a few nice pieces by names like Todd Nauck, Erik Larsen, Andy Kuhn and a few others. But if I have to pick my favorite of the show, it's either my Green Lantern by Francisco Herrera or the Spider-Girl by Mike McKone. Both of those were very awesome. But you be the judge and check them out yourself.

I didn't get to any of the panels, or do much comic shopping (although, I did get a decent grade Incredible Hulk #120 from 1969 for only a few bucks). I guess that's just something I'll have to start planning on for next year, because we will be back next year. I've pre-paid for an artist alley table and will have both Randy Kintz and Ben Hansen there with me again (and perhaps even on either side of my table, if things work out right). So, if you didn't get to the show this year, or if you did and just forgot to stop by, you'll have another shot next year.

Our next appearance event will be for Free Comic Book Day in Ellensburg, WA (in which I'll again have Randy Kintz in tow with me). We had a good time at Central City Comics last year and they wanted us back again this year. So, if you'll be in the area on that day, make sure to stop in an join in on the fun!

Are YOU ready for the Emerald City ComiCon?

Hey there, original art lovers! Well, with February pretty much a done deal, it means it's almost time for the Emerald City ComiCon in Seattle! As you know, I've been slowly teasing you all with Sequential Treasures plans for the show, but now, with crunch time upon us, I'm going to spill it all for you right here.

First off, we will be found at booth #1007 in the Exhibitors section of the show floor. You can look at their map of it, to see where we are. Put us pretty far away from artist alley, but whatcha gonna do? I hope you all will be willing to make the trek across the show floor to our booth though, as we have lots of cool stuff planned.

To begin, we'll have several of our artists on hand. Randy Kintz will be at our booth all three days, as will Ben Hansen (who'll be floating between our booth and the "Sketch Crew" tables in artist alley, which are table a-15 through 17). Last, but certainly not least, Matt Haley will be at the booth, but only on Saturday, as some work deadlines will only allow him to be at the show for one day. He, also, will be co-hosting the Blackstar Warrior panel on Saturday at 12:00 pm. You can see it on ECCC's programming schedule. They will all be doing sketches, plus Ben and Randy will have prints and sketchbooks with them, many of them new and debuting at this show.

And speaking of prints, there are two exclusive prints that you can only get from the Sequential Treasures booth. One is a War Machine piece by Ben Hansen. The other is a jam piece by Randy Kintz and Ben, featuring the Transformers, to honor the 25th anniversary of the original Transformers: The Movie (back from 1986). You can see images of both of these prints on our Facebook Group (they both are really awesome, if I do say so myself, and I don't expect them to last very long, as supplies will be limited).

There will, of course, be plenty of original art on hand to purchase from our various artists (not just the ones at the show, either). I'll be lugging over 400 pieces of original art for sale, including some pieces that have not been made available on our art gallery as of yet. Anyone at the show will be getting first crack at them. So, get their first and purchase fast, as I know the good stuff will disappear quickly, as it always does.

Lastly, lest you think we are only about ourselves, we have some really great things to show our giving side. First, is that we are taking donations for the HERO Initiative. As they do not have a booth set up at the show this year, Sequential Treasures has decided to "pick up the slack." It is a most worthy cause, to help older creators in their golden years (many of whom did not have a lot of the benefits and rights that creators today have). In addition, anyone making a donation of $10.00 or more will get a an original sketch card piece by Randy Kintz or Ben Hansen. They have graciously offered to help this noble charity, by doing so (but as with most things, supplies of the cards are limited). And, as if this weren't enough, we will also be giving away free comics to any kids who come by the booth (not to worry parents, they will be age appropriate stuff). But, again, this will only happen while supplies last.

Well, there you have it. The outline for our show time plans. Plus, who knows, maybe we'll even squeeze in another surprise or two. So, I trust I can count on all of you who are going to the show to stop by out booth? I thought so. How could you resist such awesomeness? Answer: you can't!

New Richard Moore art availabe to buy!

Hey there, my art loving followers! Were back with some more news and updates for you, as you like it. So, let's get things rolling...

First, we have just added all 16 pages to Far West: Bad Mojo #1 by Richard Moore and Antarctic Press. Richard's elven bounty hunter is one of his more enduring creations and this now means we have the complete set of page to both issue of her latest mini-series, available to purchase right away! Pictured above is just one of them. So, go to the art gallery and check them all out. But don't delay in placing your orders, as this stuff will be going to the Emerald City ComiCon with us and there's no guarantee that it will all be here after we get back. Place those orders ASAP!

And speaking of the upcoming show, it's time for me to give you all another little taste of what we have planned for it. Well, we're doing something we've never done before at any show and are going to have exclusive prints for sale. These are prints that you won't find anywhere else and can only be bought from Sequential Treasures directly. You can see one of the planned prints posted up at our Facebook Group right now, featuring the artistic styling of Ben Hansen. On top of that, we'll have original art for sale, which has not yet been posted to the art gallery. So, your first chance to view them (and purchase them) will be at the show. If these don't make it worth your while to stop by our booth (#1007 in the exhibitors section, in case you didn't know), then nothing will!

Batman and Robin #20 verdict: An overwhelming winner!

Hey, everyone! Well, things are really moving along here at Sequential treasures HQ, as we get ready for our big convention debut for 2011! But before we get into any of that, here's a couple of others things that we wanted to let you know about.

First off, with Mick Gray now the regular inker for the very popular series Batman and Robin, we've been curious how his debut issue (#20, for the record) has been received by the comic reviewing community. Well, the word on the street is in and it looks to be a big hit with most folks. Below are some of the choice comments from some review related site about it:

Next up, I have a special treat for you, but only if you happen to have a Facebook account. At Sequential Treasures Facebook Group, I've just posted a few advanced images from Richard Moore's upcoming one shot called Ladies of the Night, which is due out in April from Antarctic Press. It's basically a pin up book, with little verses that go with each image. It's Richard doing what his fans love to see him do. The images shown will be in the book, but you get a sneak peek of them right now. So, if you don't have a Facebook account, maybe this will give you reason to get one. If you do have one, then you need to join our Facebook group. And once you do, you'll be checking out some exclusive content for us that you won't see anywhere else.

And now, as promised, I'm going to continue to give you all some tidbits on the fun we have planned for the Emerald City ComiCon, which is now only two weeks away! We at Sequential Treasures aren't solely about ourselves. We like to help out others, too. So, that's why we will have a donation jar for the HERO Initiative at our booth (#1007 in the exhibitors section). It seems that this year there will not be a booth at the show for this great organization, so we wanted to do them a solid and give them some kind of presence at the event. But that not the end of it. For those who make a donation of $10.00 or more, our own Randy Kintz will do you a personal sketch card piece. The amount of cards are limited to only 30, so it's "first come, first served." It's just a small way for us to help out a very worthwhile cause, which is very close to our hearts, while also making it fun for all of you guys. So, when you stop by our booth, make sure to do your part and help out.

Randy Kintz quickie art update!

Hey there, folks! Well, your blogmaster is back again, to give you more scoops and info on everything Sequential Treasures related.

First off, we have a small art update from our own Randy "Rantz" Kintz. We've just added three great new pin up pieces from him to our art gallery. We've got one of Angela of Spawn fame (shown here in the image provided), one of the pieces used in Randy's angel card set from sadlittle.com last year, and last (but certainly not least), there's the pin up which is going to be the exclusive new print Randy has done for the Emerald City ComiCon next month in Seattle! All of these are great, so head on over and give them a gander (and maybe buy one, while you are there, if you feel the desire).

And speaking of the show, here's another little tidbit of info for what we have planned for you. While Randy has an exclusive new print for the show, he's not the only one who will. There will be two great exclusive prints offered directly by Sequential Treasures. I won't say of what (although, I will post the images on our Facebook group, which is linked in the sidebar, closer to show time), but I will tell you who by: Randy Kintz and Ben Hansen! And these will be true exclusives, as you won't be able to get these prints from Randy or Ben at any shows which we are not at. So, you better make sure to hit our booth at the show (#1007, in case you didn't know) and grab up these beauties, as you won't have endless opportunities to do so.

Hitting The Shelves: Batman and Robin #20 & Chip: Second Crack #3

Hey there, my faithful fiends. We're back again with more news and info for you Sequential Treasure watchers. This time out we've got a bit of stuff to cover. Starting with multiple new comics hitting the comic shops this week, from our bevy of talents.

First off, we have Chip: Second Crack #3 from Richard Moore and Antarctic Press. This is the concluding chapter to the mini-series. This time Chip, Ash and their new friend, the Jersey Devil, all find themselves the target of a hunter, who wants to add them all to his trophy collection. Will Chip and his crew outfox the hunter, or will they end up as a new talking piece over his fireplace. Whatever happens, you know it's probably going to be hilarious getting there. So, make sure you pick up your copy of this book, which Shawn of Cosmic Comix & Toys said is "Sweet, fun and funny."

Next up, is probably the biggest release we've ever seen around here. Batman and Robin #20, which boasts a sterling new creative team, features the inking power of our own Mick Gray, who is also the series new regular inker. You can check out a preview of the issue right here. This is currently one of DC's most popular titles and is sure to only continue to be so with this team. So, make sure to get in on the ground floor to what is sure to be a great run with some very talented creators at the helm. Just look for the cover shown here at your comic shop this Wednesday.

Finally, in our countdown to show time, I'll be giving you some more info on what you can expect to see for us at the Emerald City ComiCon next month in Seattle. Today, I'm going to tell you that your blogmaster won't be the only one in the booth. I'll be sharing it with Randy Kintz and Matt Haley! And who knows what cool things they'll be bringing with them for you all. On top of that, Ben Hansen will also be making appearances at the booth over the course of the show, as well. Hitting The Shelves: Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne HC Edition

Hello, everyone! Despite the rumors you might have heard, Sequential Treasures is alive and well. While it has been some time since you've heard from us, that's merely because we've been busy getting things ready and plotting out some good stuff for all of you that will be coming this year (some of which I will get into in a moment). And what better way to start off things for 2011, than with the release of some comic goodness from one of our illustrious talents!

This Wednesday sees the Deluxe Hardcover release of the collected mini-series Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne! Grant Morrison's best-selling multi-part Batman epic! Witness Bruce Wayne's adventures across time as he is swept through the time stream, from the ancient days that predate history itself through epics set in the times of pirates and the Old West, through his triumphant return to present day Gotham City! It features an array of talented artists, as well, including our own Mick Gray (inking over the pencils of Ryan Sook). Just look for the cover image provided here, when you got for your weekly stash of comics at your local retailer's shop.

Now, as to some of the things we've been working on to make this year even bigger than last year, well, I can't think of a better way to start that, than with the announcement that Sequential Treasures will be at the Emerald City ComiCon next month in Seattle. We have our own booth and aside from have all the great art you've come to expect from us, we'll be bringing some new things to the table, not the least of which is have a few of our artists in tow at the booth. I don't want to give away all the coolness right now, but I'll be providing you all with tidbits as we get closer to show time. Needless to say, we are really going to be trying to make this our best show appearance yet! So, if you are going to the show, make sure to stop by our booth (which I'll be providing the info on soon).
