Artist Bio: Matt Haley

Hello, my comic art faithful. I told you I'd be back soon with more news and info and you know your not-so-humble blogmaster has never lied to you before, so why start now?

Today's news is probably some of the biggest I've had to give in some time. It's something I've been sitting on for a bit, until the time was right to spring it. Well, all has fallen into place and that time is now: Sequential Treasures is now the exclusive art rep for big time comic star Matt Haley! This is very big news for us here and we couldn't be more excited to be working with an artist of Matt's reputation and caliber. I'm sure many of you are familiar with Matt's art from his time at the big two. But for those of you not so in the know, here's a small rundown on Matt's career:

"Artist Matt Haley is well known in the world of comic books for his years of work for Marvel (THE ORDER, HEROES REBORN: REBEL), DC (SUPERGIRL/BATGIRL: ELSEWORLDS FINEST, BIRDS OF PREY) and Dark Horse (GHOST), but he attracted a whole new audience thanks to the illustrations he provided for HarperCollins' new book BADASS, by Ben Thompson, in bookstores nationwide.

Already hard at work on the sequel, Haley also heeded the call to Hollywood and created art for both seasons of Sci-Fi Channel’s hit series, “Stan Lee’s Who Wants to be a Superhero?” But never to forget the industry that helped put him on the map, he remained a fixture in comics working on the art to Superman Returns movie adaptation. Haley’s talent and reputation as an artist have created a demand for his work that spans the entertainment industry.

More recently, he was lead artist for Rift Software's "Liberty Rocket" XBOX game, as well as providing covers for FEMME NOIR for Ape Entertainment, TANGENT: SUPERMAN'S REIGN at DC Comics, and Avatar's relaunch of LADY DEATH. He's
also just directed a secret film project that will be viral on the web by May."

As I said, this is big news. The only down side, is that Matt doesn't have very much of his past originals left for sale. However, Sequential Treasures is working with him to create new exclusive pin up pieces to be sold through us, as well as lining up commission works for him. We will shortly have a commissions rate chart available, so make sure to check in with us shortly, if you'd like to get your own Matt Haley original. Even better, Matt will be at Emerald City ComiCon in March, along with myself, Randy Kintz and Ben Hansen. So, Sequential Treasures looks to be out in force come March and you'll have the opportunity to meet many of the talented creators in our stables.

Wow, how exciting, huh? Things just continue to move onward and upwards for Sequential Treasures and we hope you'll be along for the ride. That's all for this time. I'll be back with more news and updates soon. If they turn out as impressive as this one, you just might not be able to stand it! Until then, peace out!
